Which Files Do I Need?

I saved everything off the Mac except my QB45.zip file! That means I now don't have Quickbasic 4.5! I thought I'd already saved it to the desktop and Keynote, but when I went into the Keynote to take my lesson today it wasn't there. I'm so annoyed right now. A friend gave it to me cause the one I found on the net earlier was compressed in some weird format. He's not available and the file might be on one of his servers which went down in any case. I've been looking online for qb45.zip and found a few different ones but they don't contain all the files that one of my manuals says they should. Of course, I know the .exe and .hlp files are a must, and all include those. But some of the .lib and the 4util files aren't there. Here's the list that's recommended.

So what files are unnecessary and why? Also, how do I run a .bas file? They've got a few cool samples that I wanna try out. I'm assuming I just load them into the compiler.

If you downloaded off your mac and if you still have it, can't you go back in there and download your QB zip file?

That's just it. I didn't save it from the Mac, so now I don't know which to download, since there are several available. I can't believe I was so stupid! I was really hoping to start my programming this week too now that things have calmed down with the move and all.

Yes yes yes! I found both the editor I needed and QuickBasic, all of it! First, QB 4.5.

And I used the actual page from Microsoft to get the description of the files needed.

I had to type repackaged in Google to get all the goodies. Now my editor. I haven't tried it out yet but I hear it's really good and an enhanced version of the editor that's supposed to come with the MS variety of DOS... ahem.

Now I have to convince myself to go eat and sleep and not play with my new toys. Now I can edit my autoexec.bat and try different screenreaders and make text files and... lol
